This graph shows the distribution of EPC ratings of all properties in Wiltshire, as at the end of January 2025.
This graph is a work-in-progress because it is currently misleading. It contains both current and expired (or replaced) certificates, so some properties have duplicate entries. I'll update this graph as soon as I can.
However, some interesting things can be gleaned from it.
On the very left, with an EPC rating of G1 are a small but notable number of properties with the worst possible EPC rating. These tend to be older properties with poor building fabric and poor heating systems.
In contrast, the highest EPC rating was A167 (off the graph here), which was a farm house connected to a massive solar array on a nearby barn.
The spike in EPC ratings around the 84A level which is likely due to new builds. This demonstrates the effect that modern building regulations are having on EPC ratings of new properties.
This data was obtained from the Open Data Communities website at:
https://epc.opendatacommunities.org/login
From here, you can create an account and download a pre-prepared data file of all EPCs in England and Wales, or smaller downloads for individual counties, or conduct small searches resulting in up to 5000 properties based on a variety of criteria.
The downloaded data will include all certificates, including expired and replaced ones, and for both new build and existing dwellings. Some of these entries therefore may no longer be accurate, and some properties will have duplicate entres with old and new certificates.
